Domestic Violence is a frightening and challenging part of some affected lives. It can be something that slowly builds up in small trespasses over time or an event that explodes in an instant. Domestic Violence will kill 4000 women in the United States this year. Think of two women in your life, two of them will likely become a victim in their lifetime. This outrage must stop!

Domestic Violence Traps
Often Domestic Violence Survivors can get trapped in financial binds with their abuser. Other times they can not have anyone else to turn to who is willing to weather the storm with them. It is at times like these that nonprofits like Voice My Story become vital.
We are here to weather the storm with those in need. With a dedicated staff of loyal volunteers and advocacy, we can stand on the ground of safety together as a united bastion of trust and a loyal upholder of strength.
Inner and Outer Work
Domestic Violence tears down families and communities from the inside out. By doing the outer work that the supportive programs have to offer, we offer a substantial infrastructure to make permanent changes in residency, employment, child safety, and independence. The outer work that we do here creates the space for our clients to do the inner work that allows them not only to survive but to thrive. Our staff, volunteers, and peers make up an important and powerful network of advocates that strive to help their clients find their path and voyage their path. When we walk in the footsteps of our advocates and survivors it creates an easier path in overcoming such a difficult one.
Breaking Free
Voice My Story offers access to hotlines that help to provide support during trying times of need and de-escalate violent situations into the groundwork of safety. Abuse can sometimes be a convoluted road and clarity can become paramount to breakthrough. Voice My Story can provide resources to get our clients into a safe haven and help to structure game plans for moving up and onward in life. We provide peer support and classes on how to identify the vulnerable points in your life that create opportunities for abuse and help defend against the retaliation that may follow. We include resources for financial management skills, work opportunities, and child care options.
